Description

After a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are very excited to announce that Miko Fogarty Ballet Master Class is back in early 2023!

Moscow International Ballet Competition Gold Medalist and our own conservatory director, MIKO FOGARTY, will be teaching a special classical ballet master class in the Bay area.  Do not miss this great opportunity!

Who Is This for?:  

Intermediate - advanced ballet students, ages 8-20. 


Participant Requirements:

Participants must be at least 8 years old by the date of the class.  All students must have achieved an intermediate or advanced level of ballet training to participate.  However, no audition is necessary.

Date:

January 8 (Sun), and February 12 (Sun), 2023 

Location:

San Jose Dance International/Yu Xin Ballet School studio at 1009 South De Anza Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129 () - No waiting room available in the building at this location.

Cost*:

$125/student/class for a small group session.  A number of participants is limited to 8. 

*No refunds after December 22, 2022 for the class on January 8, 2023 and no refunds after January 31, 2023 for the class on February 12, 2023.

Parking:

Free parking available.

Time:  

1:00-3:40PM:  Junior students, ages 8-12

4:30-7:10PM:  Senior students, ages 13-20

Class Schedule: 

We will spend 90 minutes warming up at the barre and in center, focusing on technique, followed by a 10 minute break. We will spend 60 minutes focused on classical variations.  In the variation class, observers will be presented in the studio.


Pointe Shoes?:

Pointe shoes may be worn for the variation class, only if the participant has had at least one year of pointe work.

Classical Variations**:

Junior students, ages 8-12:  Variation from Paquita. 

Senior students, ages 13 and up: Swanilda Variation from Coppelia.

**Please note, Variation offerings may be subject to change.  Observers will be presented in the variation class.

Space Is Limited

We are dedicated to ensuring that our dancers have a fun and safe environment to move and dance. Due to space, the number of students allowed for each class is limited. We recommend registering as early as possible to guarantee your spot. The maximum number of participants allowed in the San Jose class is 8 students.

COVID Policies

San Jose Dance International matches its policies with the Santa Clara County Health Department for the class in San Jose.  Masks are optional for all students and observers.  San Jose Dance International requires any students and observers presenting any cold/flu/covid symptoms to stay home.  Registration fee is not refundable for missed class due to illness, including Covid.

Space is very limited and a first-come, first-serve basis.  Children 8-14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.  Observers must reserve seats through our website before entering the studio.

Cost:

$7/seat to observe a variation class ONLY.  Sorry, non-refundable.

Time:

2:40-3:40PM:  Junior class observation - Paquita variation.  

6:10-7:10PM:  Senior class observation - Swanilda variation.
